By expertly manipulating the soft tissue and joints in your body, a registered massage therapist can help alleviate many of the aches and pains that compound after years of physical activity. This form of restoration can be used in conjunction with other practices such as physiotherapy and Pilates to help rehabilitate and recover from injuries or other physical limitations. When living in a fast paced city like Vancouver, massage therapy can be a great way to ease out the tension and stresses that accumulate over time.

Our Yaletown Registered Massage Therapists will recommend custom programs based on your individual needs and response to treatment. These programs may incorporate a variety of techniques such as manual and exercise therapy, intramuscular stimulation, deep tissue and fascial release. If you’re currently following a rehabilitation program, our Massage Therapists will coordinate with our in house physiotherapists, Pilates and yoga instructors to help you reach your goals as quickly and effectively possible.

Buccal massage is highly effective in alleviating tension headaches and jaw pain by addressing both the external areas of the face and the areas prone to tension, particularly the head, neck, and shoulders.

Buccal face and neck massage helps release tensions that are often transmitted through fascial planes, impacting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the muscles responsible for facial expressions.

In addition, the added benefits of lymphatic drainage may help with headaches, sinusitis decreases edema, skin conditions like acne or eczema, reduces pain, and promotes relaxation.

Katherine graduated from Dalhousie University in 2009 with her Bachelor of Commerce and spent three years working as a corporate auditor with one of Canada’s leading professional services firms. Her time spent in Toronto’s financial district provided first-hand experience of the physical and mental stress that comes standard working in such a demanding environment. It was during this time that Katherine was first exposed to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Not only did the treatments resolve her symptoms, but the wisdom from this ancient medicine inspired her to transition from the corporate world to pursue a more fulfilling path centred around holistic healing.

Katherine obtained her Diploma of Acupuncture from Toronto’s Institute of Traditional Medicine and began practice as a Registered Acupuncturist in 2018. James earned his Bachelor of Human Kinetics, with a specialization in Movement Science, from the University of Windsor in 2015. He furthered his education at the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy, completing the Advanced Standing Option for Health Professionals in 2016. Trained in a variety of techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point release, sports massage, and fascial release, James has extensive experience treating a diverse clientele ranging from high-level athletes and weekend warriors to desk workers, pregnant mothers, seniors, children, and patients undergoing cancer, thoracic surgery, and spinal rehabilitation. Beyond his clinical practice, James dedicates time to supervising an outreach clinic, mentoring students on their path to becoming registered massage therapists.

When he is not treating, James can be found playing soccer in a recreational league, or cheering for the NFL’s Chicago Bears to win the Super Bowl.

With over a decade of experience, she has honed her skills and developed a deep passion for the craft. Her initial interest in massage therapy was sparked during her time as a competitive ballroom dancer, where she discovered the profound benefits of Massage Therapy.

In her practice, Yenina employs a diverse range of techniques, drawing from modalities such as myofascial release, Swedish massage, and manual lymphatic drainage. Her interests also extend to addressing TMJ dysfunction, offering comprehensive assessments and treatments tailored to individual needs. Michèle Tamplin has been practicing physiotherapy for 20 years. She earned her physiotherapy degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Vanguard University in Southern California. Michèle is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of British Columbia and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, the American Physical Therapy Association and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.

Michèle employs a biomechanical and neuromuscular approach to treatment utilising clinical skills and post-graduate training in areas such as: myofascial release, joint mobilization, Mulligans mobilization with movement, biomechanical analysis, core stabilization, postural retraining, Kinesio Taping Method, craniosacral therapy, specific exercise prescription, custom orthotic, custom brace and compression stocking fittings. She enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions ranging from sport to chronic persistent injuries and has spent a year working at the Rotunda Maternity Hospital, gaining experience in woman’s health. Recently she has become interested in a dynamic treatment approach, consisting of objective measures, aimed at improving quality of life and function in the ageing population. She is passionate in regards to patient care, aiming to return her patients to their maximum potential, quickly and safely, and to empower them with both knowledge and self-treatment programs tailored to meet their specific needs.

Michèle has clinical and personal experience in many disciplines, sports and activities. Her love of competitive tennis facilitated her studies while obtaining a tennis scholarship to university in California. She owned a physical therapy practice in Maui and her passion for the ocean, transcended into the physiotherapy care of professional kitesurfers, stand up paddlers, windsurfers and surfers. Involvement in activity such as snowboarding, skiing and downhill biking has facilitated a unique understanding of the underlying movement and postural faults associated with certain movements. This has resulted in the development of movement re-education strategies to optimise pain free function and prevention of future injury.
